Who Meldry is for

Meldry is an activity-planning service for adults planning with a partner, spouse, family, or friends. Children do not create Meldry accounts. An adult may optionally provide a child’s nickname and birth year so activity age guidance can be more useful. We do not request a child’s precise birth date, school, contact details, account credentials, or photograph.

Information we collect

• Account information: email address, display name, time zone, authentication records, and account identifiers.
• Shared planner information: planner name, members, approximate home area, travel and budget preferences, optional child nickname and birth year, reactions, plans, reminders, and feedback.
• Instagram activity information: the Instagram account identifier used to message Meldry, message and media identifiers, Reel or post URLs, captions and public activity details needed to create the activity card.
• Device information: app platform and version, encrypted push-notification token, notification status, and limited security or diagnostic information.
• Product events: privacy-reduced events such as whether sign-in, extraction, preview opening, or planning succeeded. Meldry does not send private captions, child information, email addresses, or activity titles in analytics events.

How we use information

We use this information to authenticate you, connect Instagram messages to the correct planner, extract and translate public activity details into Canadian English, prevent duplicate saves, support family collaboration, create calendar files, deliver requested reminders, provide support, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.

Service providers

Meldry relies on providers that process information only to deliver their part of the service. These may include Supabase for authentication and data storage, Vercel for hosting, Meta and Instagram for messages, OpenAI for structured activity extraction, Resend for transactional email, Apple and Google/Firebase for mobile delivery and notifications, and privacy-configured analytics or error-reporting providers when enabled. Their processing is governed by their agreements and privacy terms.

Sharing and tracking

We do not sell personal information. We do not use planner information for targeted advertising and do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. Household information is shared only with active members of that household. A signed activity preview shows public activity facts only; it excludes household members, children, reactions, preferences, and private notes.

Retention

Your account and planner data are retained while your account is active. Raw Instagram webhook and postback payloads are redacted after 30 days. Expired authentication handoffs are deleted. Some minimal security, transaction, or backup records may remain for a limited period where reasonably necessary to protect the service or meet legal obligations.

Security

Meldry uses household authorization and database row-level security, encrypted server credentials, encrypted push tokens, rotating authentication sessions, signed private-preview links, and restricted server-only operations. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so please contact us promptly if you believe your account has been misused.

Your choices

You can correct planner information, change preferences, disable notifications in Meldry or device settings, sign out, and delete your account from Settings. Account deletion removes your authentication account and your membership; if you own the household, it also deletes the household planner. You may also contact support to request access, correction, or deletion.

International processing

Meldry is operated from Ontario, Canada. Service providers may process information in Canada, the United States, or other countries where they operate, subject to contractual and legal safeguards.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as Meldry changes. Material changes will be identified by a new effective date. Questions or privacy requests can be submitted through the Meldry support page.
